My Story
From £600 weeks to founder of Close The Market
I'm 20. For most of my life so far I've worked minimum-wage jobs — labouring, stacking shelves in retail — putting in 60-hour weeks for less than £600. My time felt like it was being wasted, and I felt undervalued: nothing more than a number on a screen. Through my A-Levels I tried everything to break the cycle — teaching myself forex and options trading, dropshipping, reselling — looking for any way out.
I'm now in the second year of a Business Management degree, and I can already see where that path leads if I coast through it: a standard corporate career, the exact thing I've been trying to escape. But I've always wanted to work directly with businesses and help them grow. High-ticket sales is how I make that happen.
On January 1st, 2026, I was broke, overweight and unhappy again — and I decided that was the last time. If I wanted balance back in my life, something had to change, so I committed to rebuilding myself emotionally, physically and financially. I lost 20 kilos. On top of my 16-hour contract at Sainsbury's, I took on up to 45 hours of overtime a week, working across 18 different stores in central Manchester to save money to invest in myself and build the life I know I deserve. Every spare hour went into finding a way out — building a real skill set instead of following the usual script: pay the bills, work all week, party all weekend.
Then I made my biggest bet on myself so far: I joined Congruent Closers, a small, high-performance community run by Ethan Jukes-Mcnee, full of people already earning in closing roles — and I'm learning underneath Ethan on a 1-1 basis. I'm putting in the reps — role-plays, call reviews, and fixing the beliefs that held me back — and I'm open to my first closing role. Everything I learn along the way, I'll share here.
